LVPG Internal Medicine
Same-day care when you're sick
When you're sick and feel
you should see us, we'll work to get you an appointment as soon as
possible.
The team approach means one of
our doctors or nurse practitioners can usually see you the same day.
“On-time” policy
We make every effort to
minimize your wait time.
We ask you to
be on time so that you don’t inconvenience other patients.
If you are 10 minutes or more late, we may
ask you to reschedule.
Please come 30 minutes early
to your first appointment.
Be sure to
bring your insurance cards and your insurance referral, if you need one.
“No show” policy
If you need to cancel an
appointment, always call in advance to let us know.
If you repeatedly don't keep your scheduled
appointments, we may ask you to select another practice to handle your care.
Referrals and pre-certifications
We need 48 hours (2 business
days) to make a referral and 72 hours to process a pre-certification.
Prescription Refills
Please bring a list of all
your current medications to every appointment.
This means everything that every doctor has prescribed for you, plus all
the over-the-counter medications you take.
For prescriptions, be sure to include the current dose and when you will
need a refill.
The best time to ask for a
refill is during a regular visit with your doctor.
However, if you need us to phone in a refill,
please plan ahead, because we need time to process your request:
Phone in to local pharmacy
-- 48 hours (2 business days).
Mail order prescription -- 7
days
Narcotic medication -- 7
days
If you will not receive your
mail order prescription in time, we can call in a 30-day supply to the local
pharmacy of your choice.
Insurance and fees
We accept Medicare and most
major health insurance.
We don't accept
Medicaid managed care plans unless you are an established patient.
When you call for your appointment, we can
confirm that we accept your insurance.
If your insurance is
“participating,” we expect the copay (if any) at the time of your visit.
If we accept your insurance but it is not
“participating,” we expect you to pay in full at the time of your visit, and
for you to file the paperwork with your insurance company, which will reimburse
you directly.
For all other patients, we
require payment in full at the time of your visit.
Our billing coordinator can explain the fees
in advance.
We accept cash, checks,
Traveler’s checks, VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
Emergencies
After office hours, call the
regular number and an answering service operator will page the physician on
call.
The doctor will call you back
within 15 minutes.
